From the Publisher
You want to catch fish? You must learn to think like one. No one has spent more time pondering the wily ways of underseas creatures than Scott and Wendy Bannerot. They impart a boatload of hard-earned knowledge and practical advice gleaned from an unparalleled background in commercial fishing, the fiercely competitive Islamorada, Florida Keys sportfishing fleet, and extensive long-distance cruising. From the backwaters and shallows to the deep blue sea, if there are fish to be had, the Bannerots get them. You want to catch fish? Read this book. --Herb McCormick, Editor, Cruising World Magazine "Cruiser's Handbook of Fishing is jam-packed with solid advice on tackle and techniques proven to catch fish almost anywhere in the world's oceans. It's clear that Scott and Wendy Bannerot have gone out there and actually done it." --Barry Gibson, Editor, Salt Water Sportsman "Cruising sailors are legendary for their inability to catch fish, and it isn't for lack of trying. With the publication of Scott and Wendy Bannerot's definitive book there is no excuse not to catch breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Having fished with Scott and Wendy many a day, I've witnessed their uncanny abilities firsthand. This future classic is destined to be on every sailboat and motor cruiser." --Peter Jenkins, best-selling author of Along the Edge of America and A Walk across America "It's hard to imagine anyone else in the world writing this book this well. The Bannerots combine their remarkable sailing and cruising experience with a tremendous knowledge of fish and love of catching them, offering both novices and seasoned veterans a definitive work replete with fascinating anecdotes and specific information." --Doug Olander, Editor in Chief, Sport Fishing Magazine "On top of all their other fishing advice, Scott and Wendy Bannerot include here a fine introduction to fly-fishing for the experienced cruiser. In a nutshell: keep it simple and don't be intimidated. All over the world, cruisers will find themselves in places where they'll want to leave the heavy gear in the racks and grab the fly rod. The Bannerots will help them get into fish." --Jim Butler, Editor in Chief, Fly Rod & Reel Magazine "This is the ultimate guide to harvesting the sea. It should be aboard every cruising boat." --Steve Dashew "This is one of the most comprehensive, easy to read, 'how-to-fish' books I've come across. It covers the whole gamut of fishing techniques from how to catch your bait and rig your gear to processing your catch, all from the perspective of a cruising yacht. A great informative reference and a good read." --Wade Whitelaw, Fisheries Research Scientist, Secretariat of the Pacific Community "This is more than a first-class instruction manual on fishing for ocean cruisers. It is a wonderful reference work that will make fishing easier and more productive regardless of the equipment you have available or the exotic location you choose to wet a line." --Gary Caputi, The Big Game Fishing Journal "Cruising and fishing coincide in most coastal locales, so why not keep some fishing tackle aboard your boat--and a copy of The Cruiser's Handbook of Fishing with it? Scott and Wendy Bannerot have created a blueprint for sailboaters or power cruisers on the best ways to use their tackle." --Joe Healy, Editor, Saltwater Fly Fishing Magazine "Scott and Wendy Bannerot's writing is wonderful; it's both authoritative and inclusive, as if some grizzled fisherman threw his arm around your shoulders and patiently explained the essentials of fishing as you walked down the dock. Not only will voyagers benefit from the ample technical detail, they'll also be captivated by the stories that bring the subject to life and illuminate our timeless fascination with fishing." --Tim Queeney, Editor, Ocean Navigator

Fishing Guide for Crusing Sailors
By A Customer
This is an excelent source book for the voyaging sailor,or anyone, who wants to learn how to have better success when fishing the worlds oceans. The authors have cruised extensively aboard their yacht,Ian, and have a background in marine biology. They have a unique perspective into how you can increase your success rate in having fun while catching dinner. Topics cover equipment selection, tips for catching specific species, toxicity issues, and much more. Even if you are not cruising the Seven Seas, you will learn a lot about offshore fishing from this book. I reccomend it.

Curising In Isolated Parts Of The World? Don't Forget It
By M. Bennett
I have done quite a bit of crusing, fishing and diving but I always wanted to learn how to clean and prepare the fish myself. The book gave some very good insight into this but I didn't think it was detailed enough. The books starts out with the basics of fishing while crusing and then on to every theme possible: 1.) Fishing under power or sail 2.) Gear and Tackle (excellent drawings for knot tying) 3.)Offshore Trolling 4.)Adrift or Anchored 5.)Dingy Techniques 6.) Walking, Wading and Diving 7.) Tools and Nets 8.) Arranging your vessel for fishing 9.) Processing your catch 10.) Medical Considerations for the Crusing Fisher 11.) Getting the most from your new crusing skill 12.) A guide to Edible Fish and Invertebrates ( would be much better in color as I have not seen many fish come up black and white) 13.) Seafood recepies
If you are planning any type of crusing for a longer period of time. This is an absolute must have. A transatlantic or gulf stream crossing can sometimes get boring and knowing these skills take out a lot of the intimidation a lot of us have about fishing and cleaing our own catch.

Beware the Kindle edition
By annawest
The Kindle edition had photos, tables and figures as far as the beginning of Chapter Two. After that, none. No pictures of the lures, hooks etc mentioned in the text. Despite being clearly written and very informative, without these illustrations, much value is lost.
Can anyone suggest where or how I might be able to download the tables and figures separately?
