Review
This is one of the most useful introductions to Axapta I have read. It is comprehensive, yet clear and simple, in its discussion of solutions for common manufacturing challenges. This is just the sort of material that will allow someone to understand, and apply, the myriad of Axapta capabilities very quickly. We have been working with Axapta for 5 years and I really wish we had this book when we started! --Ian Harrill, Director Axapta Practice, Encompass Solutions, Canada
Scott Hamilton's book Managing Your Supply Chain Using Microsoft Axapta provides a long overdue resource for any company considering the purchase of Microsoft Axapta. It serves the unmet need for in-depth, unbiased information on this product. The book could also serve as a guideline for examining other ERP packages because of the wide base of topics that is covered. Scott focuses on supply chain management, but the book really addresses the operational needs of most firms considering Axapta. His knowledge and background in the ERP business is evident as he describes how each process in the business is (and can be) handled within the software. --Ray Muszynski, IT Manager, Teledyne Energy Systems
Read the book cover-to-cover the day it arrived. It was tremendously helpful. I wish we had this book when we started our Axapta implementation two years ago. --Linda Johnson, Operations Director, Indiana Mfg.

The leading world-famed guru in automation of business-processes Scott Hamilton shows us the tendencies and problems of ERP-market. May be he is not so popular as his colleagues - marketing and management experts. But the concept of ERP penetrated in our life not long ago and the professor Scott Hamilton has been investigating ERP10 years more than this term exists. His fundamental knowledge and large experience are priceless. And he is sharing them with the readers openly.

bla-bla, there's standard cost and actual cost.
Actual costing for purchased item
Actual costing may be handled by several different methods, such as LIFO, FIFO, and weighted average cost.
A date option for the last two methods provides more accurate tracking of actual cost. Updates to actual costs for purchased items are based on posted purchase invoices. Further explanation of actual costing methods falls outside the scope of this book.
